Experience and Dedication: Director's List for AY 22/23 Advario-DAC Scholarship for AY 23/24 Ngee Ann Kongsi Scholarship for AY 23/24 & 24/25 Have been tutoring since the completion of my O-Levels in 2021. Tutored juniors during my time in SP as part of peer mentorship programme, and my juniors had an average improvement of 2 grades. Also volunteered to teach underprivileged primary school students at Lakeside Family Services. Currently have 2 polytechnic level students and 2 secondary level students. I believe that mastery of school content is key to scoring well, and I am confident in guiding students using their existing materials. I also design structured tutorial worksheets that break down each topic into manageable sections, complete with worked examples, guided explanations, real-life applications, fill-in-the-blank notes, and practice questions. These materials are designed to reinforce understanding, simplify complex concepts, and build exam confidence. Each worksheet is based closely on the school syllabus, and I ensure that all key learning outcomes are covered comprehensively. I also tailor the difficulty of questions to the student’s current level and gradually build up their confidence and skills. Each lesson follows a clear and student-centred structure to maximise understanding and engagement: Quick review of previous topic to reinforce key takeaways and identify any gaps in understanding. Introduction of new topic. Working through structured examples together with the student using my tutorial worksheets. Student attempts selected questions independently with minimal guidance. Summarise the key points, clarify any doubts, highlight common mistakes and exam tips. My approach is highly adaptable, and I prioritise building the student’s conceptual understanding, not just memorisation. I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and challenging themselves.
