Experience and Dedication: My teaching approach centres on understanding each student as an individual learner. I begin by assessing the student's current competence level, learning pace, and confidence through discussions with both parents and students. This allows me to design a customised learning plan that addresses their specific needs and learning style. Rather than providing ready-made answers, I believe in developing independent thinking through strategic questioning and timely hints that guide students to arrive at solutions themselves (i.e., no spoonfeeding). This method builds genuine understanding and confidence, rather than creating dependency on rote learning. My dual objectives are achieving desirable academic results whilst cultivating a genuine interest in the Chinese language. When students develop intrinsic motivation and appreciation for the subject, learning becomes more effective and sustainable. I have been teaching a pair of siblings since 2021 (the elder brother is now in Secondary /, and the younger sister is in Primary 6 this year preparing for PSLE). Both students have shown consistent improvement in their Chinese grades and, more importantly, increased confidence for the subject. Previously, I taught a Primary 3 student for three years and a Primary 5 student for three years. Across all my teaching engagements, students have achieved grade improvements of 1-2 levels whilst developing stronger confidence in Chinese. My experience with MOE syllabus and primary school students ensures familiarity with curriculum requirements and age-appropriate teaching strategies.
