Experience and Dedication: My tutor desc -- About myself: I am a patient tutor with an upbeat personality. Science-focused full-time for 6 years, over 40 students thus far. I specialize in upper primary and PSLE science exam questions, come with a collection of soft copy topical and semestral notes, many of which I have created myself. For exam preparation, I frequently compile and print targeted exam questions, customized reinforced concepts based on past mistakes to tackle students' weak chapters and carry out quizzes for common mistakes. My students are encouraged to keep a journal where they jot down past mistakes and draw diagrams. I have close communication with parents and update them weekly on our progress. More about my teaching technique: I focus on helping students answer open-ended questions with keyword-oriented answers since that is the main problem students face for science. I work on topics and concepts they may be weaker in. Sometimes students understand but may struggle in memorizing the keywords -- we could do writing-with-repetition and/or have fill-in-the-blanks style quizzes. My approach / lesson pace varies greatly depending on the student's learning pace, I have students on different ends of the spectrum. Each student gets an online google sheet containing practice paper scores, quiz scores and exam scores for record keeping -- updated weekly and link shared with parents to track progress. A P6 student advanced from 80% (AL3) in Weighted Assessment 2 to an impressive 91% (AL1) in Prelims. Another P6 student elevated from 78% (AL4) in Prelims to approximately 89% (AL2) in the PSLE. Yet another P6 student progressed from 60% (AL6) in Weighted Assessment 2 to approximately 79% (AL4) in the PSLE. A final P6 student improved from 63% (AL6) in Prelims to around 84% (AL3) in the PSLE, showcasing consistent success.
