Experience and Dedication: I am currently pursuing a Diploma In Tamil Studies with Early Education ( Year 3). I am currently doing my 6 months internship at MOE Kindergarten at Westwood to become a fully pledged Tamil preschool teacher. I am being trained on how to teach preschool children and create a conducive environment for them to learn. I have been trained on how to create my own lesson plans that caters to the students needs and implement them to a group of Tamil class of 10 children during my internship period. Hence, I am aware of Tamil language content knowledge, teaching peadegogies and classroom management. I will also be preparing my own materials that caters to the children's learning needs. Apart from being just book-oriented, I will plan activities in between that make the lessons interesting.I will provide activities that trains the children’s alphabet . Storytelling can also be included so that children will be engaged in the lessons . I have my own handmade puppets to use for storytelling. I will show short videos as to how to pronounce the alphabets and words. As of Last Year October to May 2024 6 students 2 - P2 and P4 - Tamil Language 4 - 1 for K1 Phonics 2 for K2 Phonics and Math 1 for K1 Phonics and Math Current 1 student - K2 Phonics and Math Previous students 4 - 1 for K1 Phonics 2 for K2 Phonics and Math 1 for K1 Phonics and Math The parents appreciated me and gave me positive comments after a few lessons saying that my teaching strategies had aided in their children's improvement of both phonics and math subjects. Over time the children showed improvement as they moved on from being strong in their basics to understanding the next level of difficulty of Kindergarten Maths and Phonics.
