With 1.5 years of tutoring experience and a strong academic foundation, I am eager to create a supportive learning environment. Currently, I am a final-year Biomedical Engineering student at the National University of Singapore, specialising in Tissue Engineering and pursuing a minor in Integrative Health. My academic journey has been driven by my passion for Science and Mathematics, which has inspired me to pursue a multidisciplinary field that bridges engineering and healthcare. I have been tutoring primary school students ranging from Primary 1 to Primary 5 for approximately 1.5 years, mainly focusing on Science and Maths. During this period, I supported students with varying learning abilities and academic needs. I explained concepts using simple language and real-life examples to ensure younger students could understand foundational ideas, while guiding older students through more structured problem-solving techniques. In Maths, I taught step-by-step methods to help students approach questions with greater confidence. In Science, I focused on building conceptual understanding rather than rote memorisation. Through this experience, I developed adaptability and effective communication skills, as I constantly adjusted my teaching strategies to suit different age groups and learning styles. I use tools like flowcharts, customised practice papers and online quizzes to simplify topics and encourage critical thinking. In addition to my tutoring experience, my professional background as a Dental Assistant and Calibration Technician has strengthened my organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills. These experiences have taught me to approach challenges with patience and adaptability, qualities I bring to my teaching.
