Experience and Dedication: Does your child understand a topic when it is taught in class, but struggle when the same concept appears in an unfamiliar way? Or perhaps they know the correct method but still lose marks through careless mistakes, weak fundamentals, or not knowing how to present their working clearly enough for full credit? If the goal is to put your child in the strongest possible position to achieve an A1, these are exactly the areas I focus on. Rather than simply going through homework, I first identify where marks are being lost and, more importantly, why they are being lost. From there, I work on the specific gaps through targeted practice, examination-style questions and structured revision. I have close to 3 years of formal tutoring experience, having started teaching shortly after completing my O-Levels. Before beginning formal tuition, I had already spent several years doing peer tutoring in both primary and secondary school through school-based programmes, helping other students understand concepts and work through questions. I have also gained experience assisting and teaching in tuition centres alongside registered MOE tutors. This has given me exposure to different teaching methods, student abilities and examination expectations, as well as the importance of teaching students not only how to obtain the correct answer, but how to structure their working in a way that maximises the marks awarded. Over the course of my tutoring experience, I have developed a strong focus on identifying weaknesses and addressing them systematically, rather than relying on repetitive practice alone. I have a proven track record of helping students make substantial improvements in their Mathematics understanding and performance. I believe in letting results speak for themselves, and I am happy to provide supporting evidence of student progress and improvement upon request, where available. I am familiar with model answers, marking-scheme requirements and common answering techniques used in examinations. A student may understand the mathematics but still lose marks because their working is incomplete, their method is unclear, or they do not present the required steps. I specifically work on these areas so that students can turn their understanding into marks. Academically, I achieved a raw aggregate of 6, with A1s across my subjects and English being my only A2. I achieved A1 for O-Level Mathematics. I have a strong familiarity with both the O-Level E-Mathematics and Additional Mathematics syllabuses, and I regularly work through examination-style questions to remain familiar with the different ways concepts can be tested. Being a relatively young tutor is also something I see as an advantage. I have recently gone through the O-Level Mathematics syllabus myself, so I understand how students are expected to approach these topics, where they commonly get stuck, and why certain questions can feel difficult despite appearing straightforward. I can explain concepts from a student’s perspective and break difficult questions down into manageable steps rather than simply giving them a formula to memorise. My interest in Mathematics also extends beyond tuition. I intend to pursue Mathematics as a long-term career, with the eventual goal of becoming a professor in Mathematical Sciences. I genuinely enjoy the subject and spend a significant amount of my own time studying and solving Mathematics beyond what is required academically. Because of this, I am not simply teaching a subject for the sake of tuition. Mathematics is something I intend to continue studying and working with for many years. I also believe that support should not necessarily end the moment the lesson ends. If a student encounters a Mathematics question they are genuinely stuck on between lessons, they are welcome to text me for help when I am available. I can clarify the concept, point them in the right direction, or explain where they may have gone wrong so they can continue learning instead of waiting until the next lesson. Ultimately, my goal is not just to help your child complete their homework or get through the syllabus. I want to identify their weaknesses, strengthen their fundamentals, develop their ability to approach unfamiliar questions, improve their examination technique, and teach them how to consistently convert their understanding into marks. For an A1, knowing the formulas is only the starting point. The real difference comes from understanding what the question is asking, selecting the appropriate method, handling unfamiliar variations, presenting working clearly, and avoiding unnecessary mark losses. These are the areas I aim to develop alongside the syllabus so that your child is in the strongest possible position to achieve their highest potential in the examinations.
